Terrell Owens, Rachel Snider Divorce News: Snider Claims Marriage Was $2M Scam for Loan

Former NFL star wide-receiver, Terrell Owens, and new wife Rachel Snider could be getting a divorce after only two weeks of marriage.

According to TMZ, Owens' wife of merely two weeks, Rachel Snider wants to break up with the former athlete after secretly tying the knot with Owens in a courthouse ceremony in Newhall, CA on January 23.

Snider revealed to TMZ, that she thinks the marriage was planned by Owens so that he could allegedly acquire a $2 million loan for a brand new home in Sherman Oaks, CA.

"I felt in love ... and now I feel betrayed and heartbroken," said Snider to TMZ.

In addition, TMZ also reported that Snider had just recently relocated from California and was taking measures to file for divorce herself.

Snider added, "I really valued his love and friendship for 5 years. Out of the love in my heart, I tried to help him. We had a secret relationship for 5 years and I married him for love."

Owens started his NFL career as member of the San Francisco 49ers from 1996-2003. The following year he played with then Philadelphia Eagles' QB Donavan McNabb from 2004-2005. Owens would then play with star QB Tony Romo and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys from 2006-2008.

The former wide receiver would play one season as a member of the Buffalo Bills in 2009.

Owens played his last season of his NFL career in 2010 as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

On August 6, 2012, Owens had signed a one-year, $925,000 contract with the Seattle Seahawks. However, Owens revealed via Twitter that the Seahawks had cut him from the team on August 26, 2012, as a result ending his potential NFL comeback.
