One year remains until the fifth installment in the Terminator franchise hits the big screen and premieres as Terminator: Genesis on July 1, 2015.

The film, directed by Alan Taylor, stars Arnold Shwarzenegger who plays in the iconic role of The Terminator. Other confirmed cast members include, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, and Jason Clarke as John Connor.

Rumors emerged that actor J.K Simmons might have scored a role in the film as well. Simmons had this to say on theterminatorgenesis.com, "there will be a lot of funny stuff in Terminator Genesis but lots of action and really intelligent sci-fi."

The film is currently being shot in New Orleans, according to the updated photos on the official website of the movie. One of the more memorable photos depicts Shwarzenegger smoking a cigar with makeup on his face. The cosmetic scars indicated that he was probably shooting a bloody action scene. Since January, the movie's initial filming venture, there have been no reports of delays or setbacks on the release date.

While fans are starting to feel the thrill over the idea of a new and upcoming Terminator film, the star himself, Shwarzenegger, showed his excitement at the Arnold Sports Festival when he spoke to TheArnoldFans.com, "I'm really looking forward to that because, as you know, the last time they did the Terminator, it was when I was Governor, and so I couldn't be in that movie. But, now I'm back again and they are very excited about having me in the film, and David Ellison, who has produced all the big movies lately, has plenty of money to do it well. He's in partnership with Paramount Pictures who are going to release the movie through their distribution. I'm really looking forward to that and it's going to come out July 4th weekend in 2015. The movie preparation is going well. The script is fantastic, so I'm really looking forward to this film."
