Terminator 5 Movie Release Date, Cast Rumors: US Premiere Scheduled for July 2015
While Slashflim and Paramount have officially announced that shooting for the next "Terminator" movie is underway, producers are yet to finalize the title of the film. The movie was initially given the title "Terminator: Genesis," but the latest release from the producers indicates that makers are still tinkering with the title.
Being the fifth movie in the "Terminator" franchise, the film was originally announced as a sequel to "Terminator Salvation" and to be released in 2011. However, after Halcyon Company declared bankruptcy, the production was shelved. Now, Megan Ellison along with her brother David Ellison has picked up the production under the banner of their company Annapurna Films and Skydance Production.
As per original plans, "Terminator Salvation" was supposed to start a new trilogy comprising "Salvation," "Terminator 5" and "Terminator 6".
While Arnold Schwarzenegger will be seen reprising the title role, the other actors in the film include Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung-hun Lee and J. K. Simmons.
In a recent interview, Schwarzenegger said, "The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath." He added, "It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages."
According to Schwarzenegger, the "Terminator" movie deals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800.
The film is being directed by Alan Taylor, while Laeta Kalogridis and Patrck Lussier have written the script.
The film is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures in theaters across the United States on July 1, 2015.
