‘Terminator 5’ Release Date, Cast Spoilers: 'Genisys' Hits the Big Screen July 2015
Paramount Pictures confirmed that the fifth film in the 'Terminator' franchise, 'Terminator: Genisys' will be released on July 1, and will mark the start of a new trilogy, with its sequels coming out in 2017 and 2018.
Since the fifth installment in the franchise was announced, fans have been looking for information about its plot, cast, and development.
However, one of the stars of the upcoming 'Terminator: Genisys' film, J.K. Simmons, shared some insight about the film in an interview with Coming Soon. The 59-year-old veteran actor said viewers should expect a "love story" in the new film.
"It's a really interesting script. They got great actors. I wrapped that in August, so that was another movie that ended up being really satisfying on all levels," Simmons said, "I have a much smaller part in that but it was really a fun thing to be a part of."
The original 'Terminator' is a science fiction movie about a battle between Skynet, an artificial intelligent network, and the resistance led by John Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger played the Terminator, an iconic cyborg assassin who was initially sent back in time to kill Sarah Connor in the movie.
The Terminator actor also revealed that the newest film will have more cyborgs and will deal with time travel. He even posted a photo via Instagram to tease the upcoming movie. The caption delivered a message of gratitude towards his co-workers and a note to all viewers anticipating the film which read:
"Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you. I can't wait to see our finished project and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I'll be back."
