‘Terminator 5: Genisys' Spoilers, Plot News: Fan Made Trailer, Jai Courtney & Arnold Schwarzenegger Interviews
As moviegoers are eagerly awaiting the upcoming 'Terminator' installment, fans are speculating about the plot, going as far as to make fan-made trailers. 'Terminator: Genisys' will evidently fall in line with the other films, as it's expected to involve a lot of time travel.
A fan made trailer zoomed in from the past, back to the second film in the franchise, 'Judgement Day', where majority of the humans on earth are killed by the nuclear holocaust.
Multiple nuclear explosions as well as a fallen robot head can be seen in the trailer, as well as a display of earth's cities before the nuclear holocaust happened.
Sarah and John Connor attempted to prevent 'Judgement Day' from happening in that film, but only postponed it.
The new movie is rumored to shake things up from the past, changing what happened in the original 1991 film. Will 'Judgement Day' still occur, or will 'Terminator 5' be the one to stop it once at for all.
Looks like 'Genisys' might see a "reset" in the Terminator storyline as cast member Jai Courtney, who plays Kyle Reese, Sarah Connor's love interest and father of John Connor, revealed in an interview with Huffington Post.
"What I can say is that we start in a place we're familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point," Courtney stated.
"It's not necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I don't even know how you brand it correctly. We're not remaking one of the early 'Terminator' movies. And it doesn't necessarily carry on from the point where we left off," he added.
Meanwhile, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed in an interview with MTV that the upcoming film will take viewers back in time.
"Terminator deals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800-and then what the model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie, but I feel so good," the 66-year old actor stated.
'Terminator: Genisys' is slated to premiere on July 1, 2015.
