'Tekken 7' Release Date News, Trailer: Focus on One-vs-One Battles, New Video Revealed By Namco Bandai
During the 2014 Evolution Championship Series, Namco Bandai revealed a trailer for the seventh installment of their flagship videogame fighting series, 'Tekken'.
Although the release date for the video game is still unknown, the game is expected to hit the market in late 2015, according to Ecumenical News.
At the San Diego Comic-Con, the game's producer Katsuhiro Harada said that the production team is still in the early stages of gameplay development for 'Tekken 7', according to Polygon.
It was revealed that the game developers for 'Tekken 7' are using the new Unreal Engine 4 to make the game available on consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, according to KpopStarz.
"With Unreal Engine 4, we can rapidly achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platforms and go beyond it. Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it also allows us to bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire," Harada said.
According to Polygon, when asked about the upcoming game's plot, Harada revealed that the game will have a "very detailed background story" and will conclude the story of the Mishima clan.
In addition to this, Harada also said that the game will address the mysteries like why Heihachi is trying to kill his grandson, why he threw Kazuya off of a cliff, and who Devil Jin is.
Despite revealing some of information about the plot, Harada said he doesn't have many details about the game's mechanics. The producer, however, confirmed that in 'Tekken 7', one-on-one battles will be featured, which is different from the team-based battles in the previous Tekken Tag series.
The upcoming addition to the 'Tekken' games will feature the character designs of a group of guest artists, which includes Mari Shimazaki, Yusuke Kozaki, Ninnin and Kenichiro Yoshimura, according to Polygon.
