Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Release Date: Premiere Date Set for August 2014
There has been confusion over the release date of the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie, however, following a delay it is now certain that the new TMNT flick will be released in theaters across the United States on Aug. 8 and will open in the U.K. on Oct. 17.
While the release date of the film, featuring Megan Fox as April O'Neal and Will Arnett as April's cameraman Vernon Fenwick, has been changed several times in the past - with the film previously scheduled to hit theaters in June 2014 - the uncertainty over the launch of the movie has seemingly finally now been settled.
Recently, Paramount Pictures, which is distributing the movie, premiered a new trailer of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie at the MTV Movie Awards giving a first glimpse of Master Splinter in the flick directed by Jonathan Liebesman.
The storyline of this Michael Bay movie revolves around four Ninjitsu-trained turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello and their sensei, Master Splinter. In the clip screened at the MTV Movie Awards, we see the turtles' rat sensei, Master Splinter.
In a recent interview with Comic Book Resources, co-creator Kevin Eastman said, "It's been a four, almost five-year journey to bring the next Turtles movie to life since the time we pitched it."
He continued, "I know everybody is like, 'Oh, Michael Bay, Michael Bay, Michael Bay, he's gonna ruin it! He's gonna destroy it!' But everyone I have encountered has been nothing more than incredibly sincere to try and bring the Turtles back in a way that's new, fresh and exciting, but with total respect to everything that's come before. I've read the script. I have a cameo in the move. It's awesome - really fun."
Despite the delay, both Liebesman and producer Bay are confident that faithful fans will be happy to see the end product.
