Taylor Swift Beats Out Beyonce and One Direction as She is Named the Most Charitable Celebrity of 2013
Taylor Swift has topped the list of being one of the most charitable celebrities in 2013.
For some people the season of giving goes all year around. According to the nonprofit organization DoSomething.org, Taylor Swift is the most charitable celebrity for the second year in a row.
DoSomething.org is the largest not-for-profit in the U.S. and is an organization that promotes social change for young people. Every December the website gathers a list of the top "20 Celebs Gone Good" to honor those who give back.
Swift topped the list this year again because of a $100,000 donation she gave to the Nashville Symphony on her 24th birthday. She also teamed up with the winter whites gala in London to help the homeless.
"The country-pop star has topped our chart for the second year in a row. And with good reason too, y'all. Swift recently celebrated her 24th birthday by GIVING gifts instead of getting," the site stated about the famous songstress. "She donated $100,000 to the Nashville Symphony, which has faced extreme financial difficulties this year. Swift also headlined an event benefiting Centrepoint, an org working to help young people experiencing homelessness. It was hosted by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. (Her good-doing even transcends continents!)"
Coming in at number two was the singer's former love interest Harry Styles and his group, One Direction, for their fundraising efforts on cancer research. Beyonce was in third place and late Fast And Furious star, Paul Walker was fourth.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Sandra Bullock, Kerry Washington, Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Seacrest, and Carrie Underwood rounded out the top 10.
Some of the richest people in our country are also the most generous. Which brings to mind the scripture,"Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you." Luke 6:38
