Red singer Taylor Swift and former Disney princess Selena Gomez have not failed to surprise their fans after they appeared to reunite and rekindle their friendship after what many had assumed was a feud between the pair.

At the recent Met Gala party on May 9, Swift and Gomez were spotted having fun shooting a video, giving the impression that their friendship had never been better.

Gomez, 21, recently took a leap of faith when she "unfollowed" fellow celebrities such as Swift, Kylie and Kendall Jenners, and Vanessa Hudgens. 

The Come and Get It hitmaker was reportedly taking part in an Instagram "cleanse" that was part of her rehabilitation efforts. 

Various publications reported that Gomez's friendship with Swift was on the rocks, and especially her on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber had strained their friendship.

In an Instagram video post, Gomez wrote: "Sometimes you wanna just be you with someone who knows all your secrets." 

Looking back, Swift mentioned in her Twitter account that Selena was "the closest thing I've ever had to a sister." 

The video clip was set to the tune of Dean Martin's classic 1950s song Volare.

Gomez graced the red carpet wearing a plum Diane von Furstenberg gown, hair pulled back, and bold earrings. 

Swift, on the other hand, walked the carpet in a pale pink custom-made Oscar de la Renta, and afterwards she tweeted, "That moment when your cat casually walks up, then abruptly ATTACKS your custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown during your fitting for Met Ball."

The Met Gala is one of the biggest annual fashion events organized by Vogue to celebrate the opening of Metropolitan Museum's exhibits.  It is also called the Costume Institute Gala.
