Taylor Swift, John Mayer News: Ex-Boyfriend Bumps Into Swift Over Dinner

Red singer Taylor Swift almost ran into ex-boyfriend and co-singer John Mayer when the two separately arrived at the exact same time at Chateau Marmont last Wednesday, August 20.

The ex-couple looked flashing and inspired, but Swift's representative told media that the event was just a mere coincidence, "Taylor was with Lily Aldridge and never saw Mr. Mayer at Chateau Marmont," the source told Us Weekly.

Back in 2009, Taylor and John started dating and eventually started a relationship. Though both are blessed in their respective careers, the couple decided to end their rather brief romance. Speculation from fans and the press rose when the 24-year-old hit maker wrote a single on the album Speak Now titled Dear John.

Purportedly, the lyrics which go "Dear John, I see it all now it was wrong / Don't you think nineteen's too young to be played by your dark, twisted games? / When I loved you so, I should've known" is intentionally addressed to her ex-boyfriend.

In an interview with the Rolling Stone, Mayer, 36, commented that Taylor's craft is "cheap songwriting." He even added, "It's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait 'til he gets a load of this!'... It really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down."

Similarly, Mayer's song "22" seems to identify Swift with the lyrics that goes, "You're like 22 girls in one / And none of them know what they're running from / Was it just too far to fall for a little paper doll?" The single was released in 2010.

To date, Mayer recently broke ties with Who You Love singer Katy Perry last March 2014. Swift, on the other hand, dated actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor Kennedy as well as One Direction member Harry Styles.
