Taylor Swift is in the middle of her "Red" World Tour and was in Nashville,TN last night to perform at the CMT Awards. 

Swift gave a great performance for her hometown crowd and country music peers. Her live vocal performances have definitely improved in the last few years. That used to be the main thing critics would jump on was her pitchy vocals live, but her last several TV performances have been very good. 

Also, her outfit for her performance last night was big talk as well. She had on a red and black corset with a flowing open red dress that almost looked like a cape at times. It was one of her many new more mature looks and worked great for her. 

Swift herself was more subdued than usual for a live performance, but she was also playing guitar and had a great stage design. The Red lights throughout the stage looked great for the song and she even had dancers waving red flags around. I've got to say, I loved the extra guitar solo too, it was very cool. 

Taylor Swift hasn't had much luck with Country Awards Shows this year, she was shut out of the CMT's tonight and was shut out of the ACM's earlier this year. Many think it is because Red wasn't a true "country" record. Miranda Lambert took home 2 CMT Awards last night. 

However, Swift did make up for it earlier this year at the Billboard Awards though, with a huge night winning 7 Awards. So the mainstream pop world definitely gave her props for her Red album. 

"The Voice" Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope also performed on the CMT's last night.
