Taylor Swift "Didn't Have Any Friends" In School
Taylor Swift admitted to InStyle magazine that she started writing songs because she had no friends in school. Though the country star's pretty face and penchant for detailing tween-angst has made her into a multi-million dollar brand, she didn't have the same luck on the social ladder at school.
In a detailed interview with InStyle, Swift, as usual, talks about her insecurities and why she started writing songs.
"I first started writing songs because I didn't really have anyone else to talk to. As sad as that sounds, I was going through this really hard time at school where I didn't have any friends. Songwriting for me just started out as therapy," she said.
Taylor admitted feeling isolated in school when she was younger citing her classmates as thinking she was, "weird and different."
The singer's therapy seemingly turns to gold every time she picks up the guitar. In the interview Swift talked about how she still uses the process of writing song lyrics to vent her emotions. Song topics could include anything from family issues, loneliness to ex-boyfriends.
In fact Swift also confessed that her biggest fear in life is becoming self-obsessed and winding up an old lady, all alone.
"What I worry about is that I never want to end up kind of a self-centered, vain human being. My fears circle around me making the wrong choices and messing this up for myself. I don't wanna end up being awful and intolerable," she told the British style magazine.
It's ironic that Swift originally started writing music because she felt isolated and unpopular. Now as a result of her "therapy" she's massively famous but fears loneliness even more. The grass is always greener I suppose.
