Taylor Swift Denies John Mayer Dinner Date: Pair Spotted At Chateau Marmont Restaurant

Taylor Swift denied she was out on a date with ex-boyfriend John Mayer after they were seen leaving the Chateau Marmont restaurant.

A source close to Swift told Hollywood Life that it was not a date and that she was horrified to see him there. The same source added that the two did not engage in a conversation at all.

Additionally, the source said Swift was actually shocked to see Mayer and considered leaving the restaurant. In the end, she decided to stay and acted as if she did not see him, but she was completely uncomfortable.

The former lovers avoided eye-contact the whole evening and left the restaurant in separate cars.

The pair allegedly dated in early 2010 when Mayer was 32 and Swift was just 21. Both parties never confirmed their relationship, but the latter's song "Dear John" was said to be inspired by the breakup.

The lyrics read, "Don't you think I was too young/ To be messed with? And you'll add my name to your long list of traitors who don't understand/ And I'll look back in regret how I ignored when they said/ Run as fast as you can."

The pair has been linked to other celebrities since they split. Mayer has been linked to Katy Perry while Swift was rumored to have dated Harry Styles of One Direction and Jake Gyllenhall.
