Ever since Taylor Swift and Brenton Thwaites were paired up for the upcoming film, 'The Giver', fans have been waiting for an announcement declaring them an official celebrity couple. However, Thwaites personally shattered that possibility when he mentioned that he's not dating the country/pop star.

In an interview with with J-14, Thwaites didn't think that he was compatible with Swift as he had a different sense of humor, "She's pretty funny, but an Aussie's sense of humor is a whole new kettle of flies," and, "A couple of jokes on my behalf went AWOL," the actor stated.

Thwaites put an end to all the rumors in another interview recently, one with Celebuzz, "I mean, I feel like someone just pulled the biggest practical joke on me. I did something wrong to someone, and someone got me," Thwaites said.

Apparently, the actor laughed off all the rumors that pegged him with the musician. However, he was also linked to his on-screen love interest, Odeya Rush, as the two allegedly had some serious on-camera chemistry. In 'The Giver' the two give the audience a look at forbidden, yet undeniable love.

Rumors about an alleged love interest between Swift and Thwaits sparked when the pair was seen at the Toronto Film Festival. It was reported that Swift was in attendance for a special screening of the movie 'One Chance', while the Austrailian actor was there to promote his new movie, 'Oculus'. Supposedly, witnesses claim that the two were flirting with each other for about an hour, and Thwaites had his arm around Swift.

As it stands, it seems that a Swift-Thwaites relationship is unlikely, but fan can always hope as romance could always spark on the set of 'The Giver.' On a side note, the film will also feature big named stars like Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.
