Honorary Covergirl and YouTube Make-up Guru, Talia Joy Castellano, dies at 13 from cancer

Talia Joy Castellano, a true embodiment of her name, passed way at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando on Tuesday. Castellano, at only 13, was a well known you-tube sensation for her make-up videos and was an honorary Covergirl through the help of Ellen DeGenres.

"It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven and please send your love and prayers to her family during this most difficult time," read a post on her official Facebook fan page.

Castellano, diagnosed with State 4 neuroblastoma, at the age of 7, underwent chemotherapy and experienced remission for a year. The cancer returned, and last year, she developed pre-leukemia. In the midst of her medical traumas, the brave teen began making you-tube videos and has been coined as the "YouTube Makeup Guru". Most clips reached more than 500,000 views, with her most famous clip reaching 8 million views.

When DeGeneres found out that one of Castellona's dreams was to meet her and do her makeup, the comedian sponsored by Covergirl brought Castellona on her show and had Covergirl sponsor an honorary cover for Castellona.

"A little fishy told me, 'Just keep swimming, just keep swimming,' " Castellona told Degeneres.

"Talia Castellano was the meaning of a true COVERGIRL. Please join me in sending love and honoring her memory, " a statement from CoverGirl read via their Twitter page.

On her Youtube account, Talia's big sister, Mattia, posted a final video, expressing the family's appreciation for all of the support they had been shown, and her desire to fulfill all of Talia' dreams, including opening up a make-up and clothing line in Talia's honor.

"Talia wanted to leave a legacy behind and she has done more than that. She has brought all of us together and an awareness to childhood cancer." Mattia Castelona said.
