'Taken' 3 Starring Liam Neeson Close to Deal, Start Filming Feb 2014
Taken released in 2008 was a surprise movie hit.
It featured Liam Neeson's character (Bryan Mills) tracking down his daughter who had been abducted while traveling abroad with a friend. Mills had experience working for the government and training as a bodyguard to help him track down the men who were trying to sell his daughter into sex trafficking.
Neeson showed that he has what it takes to be an action movie star and pull his weight on screen and bring in the box office money to back it up.
The movie became a hit and grossed over $226 million after being made for just $25 million. So they decided to move forward and make a sequel. Taken 2, which was not as good as the first, still did great at the box office making over $376 million on a budget of $45.
So with all of the success, the 'Taken' franchise is going to try and strike gold again with Taken 3.
Liam Neeson is close to a deal giving him close to $20 for a 3rd movie. The script for Taken 3 is already in progress and filming is scheduled to start shooting in Feb 2014.
After they have Neeson signed on, they will be after Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen, who play Mill's daughter and ex-wife in the film.
