'Suvivor' Season 29 Cast List & Release Date: Nine Pairs, One Duo Drops Out
The contestants for the upcoming 29th Season of 'Survivor', entitled 'Survivor: San Juan del Sur - Blood vs. Water', were recently revealed. The nine pairs of people will be seen on the show when it airs on September 24.
This time around the relationships between the couples on the show vary tremendously. The castaways will include partners that are either married, dating, siblings, or parent-child.
The prize of the contest is $1 million, and the participants will have to fight for it, even if it's against their own family members or loved ones.
On a side note, the show was initially planned to feature twenty contestants, ten pairs, but one duo had to drop out before the game began due to medical issues.
"We lost a pair of women, so the way it works out is there are more men than women. That's just the game. We don't like it that way but that's the way it's going to start," said Jeff Probst, the show's host.
"Nothing's going to be easy this season, but I really do believe that the game play is ratcheting it up so we have to ratchet up with it, so we're trying to complicate it as much as we can," added Probst.
Six participants were already revealed as early as August 27. The previously revealed casts include 'Amazing Race' former contestants Nadiya and Natalie Anderson, retired baseball pitcher John Rocher and his girlfriend Julia McGee, and Broadway actors Josh Canfield and Reed Kelly.
The following are the rest of new cast of 'Survivor: San Juan del Sur - Blood vs Water':
Keith Nale & Wes Nale (Father & Son)
Missy Payne & Baylor Wilson (Mother & Daughter)
Jeremy Collins & Val Collins (Married)
Jon Misch & Jaclyn Schultz (College Sweethearts)
Dale Wentworth & Kelley Wentworth (Father & Daughter)
Drew Christy & Alec Christy (Brothers)
The popular survival contest is exclusive to the CBS America network.
