The Devilers #1 is an action-packed supernatural comic book full of adventure through hell itself, from the writer of THE BUNKER, THE ULTIMATES, and I, VAMPIRE, Joshua Hale Fialkov and illustrated by Matt Triano. 

The comic's synopsis reads, "When the world is under siege from the pits of hell, it's up to THE DEVILERS to set things right. Seven of the world's greatest exorcists pit themselves against Satan's army, and all of creation hangs in the balance."

When speaking of the gripping new comic series, Religion News Service reported thatwriter Fialkov said, "When suddenly it's 'Oh that is a giant hellmouth that opened up in front of me,' that changes your beliefs."

The main character of the comic is Father Malcolm O'Rourke, whose faith has diminished since he had a supernatural encounter as a child. The church's head exorcist, Cardinal Michael David Reed, as well as other potential holy avengers from all over the world call the wayward priest into action as horrific creatures arise out of hell. The demons stop caring about what mankind and the heavenly host can do to them and begin a new war on Earth.

Every issue of Devilers focuses on a different character and Fialkov maintains, "As we're discovering the world, each of them is discovering the world, too, and you get a sense of who they are that way."

Although Malcolm, had a childhood experience that for most people would prove that there are higher powers at work, the priest/exorcist, is still more practical than spiritual.

"You can have dogma as much as you like, but when the rubber hits the road, you have to be practical," Fialkov stated.

The next couple of issues feature the protagonists journeying through hell, "literally heading toward Satan's throne room," Fialkov continued, "But the question is, who's actually sitting on that throne? It might be a surprise."
