The new Superman movie, Superman:Man of Steel releases to Theaters on June 14th.
The movie will feature a couple of new super powers that he has never shown before and also will be described as the most "realistic" Superman movie according to the directors. They wanted to get into the science of why Superman has his powers and if they would grow the longer he stays closer to the sun.
"A child sent to Earth from a dying planet is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil."
The Superman Festival in Metropolis,Ill will be celebrating Superman's 75th birthday. The fans that attend this festival prefer the classic, mid-century Superman, who watches over Metropolis, Ill. That picture-perfect town, 166 miles southeast of St. Louis on the banks of the Ohio River, hosts its 35th annual Superman Festival next week from June 6-9.
There will be many special guests on hand that will be greeting fans including Margot Kidder, who played Lois Lane in the four "Superman" movies with the late Christopher Reeve. Also visiting, will include the stars Michael Rosenbaum, who played the young Lex Luthor on the TV series "Smallville," and Alessandro Julani, a "Smallville" alum who has a role in the new "Man of Steel."
Also there will be comic-book artists, a carnival midway and outdoor movie screenings. They are even putting together an attempt to break the Guinness Book record for the most people dressed as Superman at one time. Think they will break the record?
