Super Smash Bros 4 Stage Revealed in Pic of the Day; Wii U Level Features Changing Mushroom Kingdom Theme

Today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day revealed a new level for the Wii U version of the game.

"Here's a new Wii U stage, Mushroom Kingdom U! It brings to life the worlds of New Super Mario Bros. U," wrote game director Masahiro Sakurai in Nintendo Miiverse.

The picture features Mario, Sonic, MegaMan, and Rosalina on various platforms throughout the level. See the image here.

"When Kamek casts a spell, the stage transforms drastically! That said, this is not what you would call a moving stage"¦" continued Sakurai. ""¦By the way, this stage will be playable in the demo version of the game for E3, a game expo that starts on June 10 in Los Angeles."

In the next picture the stage is completely transformed and switches backgrounds, platforms, and waterfalls begin spouting up. See the image here.

In Friday's Pic of the Day the 3DS handheld split screen layout was showcased.

"Pic of the day. Here's a first look at the bottom-screen display for the Nintendo 3DS. Your name will appear in the area above the accumulated damage. And if you tap one of the fighter displays"¦! "¦You can highlight that fighter on your screen. This is useful when you want to get back at a particular opponent. You can also highlight yourself if you need to keep better track of where you are. This is a great benefit to having your own individual screen," wrote Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit Samus, Greninja, Charizard, Shiek, Yoshi, and now Ike.

The game will launch this summer for the 3DS and in the winter for the Wii U.
