Today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day is loaded with 3DS sneak peeks of a new Super Mario 3D Land inspired level as Mega Man and Kirby are seen playing through the stage.

"Pic of the day. Here's some info on the Nintendo 3DS stage called Super Mario 3D Land! First, it advances by side-scrolling"¦" Masahiro Sakurai wrote on the Nintendo Miiverse. See the picture here.

The level advances along to the right, so there are many layers and areas of it. Each SSB game has at least one moving level.

"Then you continue into the valley--it's in 3D Land, after all. The protruding stone blocks change the angles of the platforms," wrote Sakurai. See the picture here.

The next scene shows them jumping down a cliff into another area. "After that, back to side-scrolling. Now it gets you moving--you'll have to trot downhill here," see the picture here.

The last frame shows the game in perhaps the last part of the level. Kirby and Mega Man are surrounded by rainbows on elevated platforms.

"And finally, you get back on rails to go farther into the stage. It takes roughly two minutes to complete a lap, and at the end you go into a giant pipe that takes you back to the beginning. "¦I know this sequence goes above and beyond a traditional Pic of the Day, so consider this a little something extra on the side from me," Sakurai wrote in closing. See the last clip here.

Super Smash Bros 4's release date has still not been announced but it has rumored to be arriving sometime in May for the Wii U and 3DS. This will be the first version of the game on a handheld.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, and now Diddy Kong.
