Super Smash Bros 4 introduced a few new characters this week, and there is one more rumored to be on his way, Mr. Game & Watch.

At the E3 conference the Nintendo team introduced Pac-Man to the game and with that came a quick glimpse of Mr. Game & Watch. He has not been confirmed, and many are saying he was shown to indicate he predated Pac-Man as the game's earliest video game character.However, this still does not rule him out.

"He only appeared onscreen in graphic form as a joke showing he predates pacman," Tweeted GameXplain to a commenter who was asking if they were sure of Game & Watch's appearance. See a picture of the two characters here.

A female character was added, Kid Icarus' Palutena. Within the game she is the Goddess of Light, and a mother figure to the series' protagonist, Pit. She has her own set of powers, and is not to be taken lightly. See her page here.

Lady Palutena also received her first Pic of the Day, and showed off the game's Home-run Contest mini game.

"The goddess is up to bat for the Home-run Contest, a returning mini-game on the 3DS version! It's been streamlined with added features here and there, like sturdier glass and doubled speed for long hits. You can also have fun comparing your rankings for this mini-game with your Global Smash Power," wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse. See the image here.

The Mii Fighters were also introduced. These characters are a series of Mii faces that appear in everyone's Wii U and in the Nintendo Miiverse. The fighters seem to all have special abilities and suits that allow them to compete with the other players. See their page here.

SSB4's 3DS release date was revealed by Nintendo at the E3 Conference. It is expected to arrive on October 3, which is a push back from the initial July prediction. The Wii U version is anticipated in December.

Aside from the above mentioned characters, the other players confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit Samus, Greninja, Charizard, Shiek, Yoshi, and Ike.
