Super Smash Bros 4 Release Date Announced; Roster Additions Include Charizard, Greninja, Sheik, Yoshi, and Zero Suit Samus (VIDEO)

In yesterday's Nintendo Direct conference, Super Smash Bros 4's game developer, Masahiro Sakurai, unleashed a ton of new information for the upcoming game including its release date.

Sakurai announced the 3DS version will be arriving first in the summer, while the Wii U version can be expected this winter. He then broke down the differences between the two, in graphics, stages, and gameplay.

Five characters were also added to the game as well. Returning to the franchise is Yoshi, Charizard, and Sheik. The later two were recently part of other characters - Zelda transforming into Sheik. Charizard was part of the Pokemon trainer character, and also turned into Squirtle and Ivysaur. Zero Suit Samus is also making a return as well, and she will be new and improved.

Pokemon X and Y's starter, Greninja, will be making his first appearance in the game, and is the third evolved form of Froakie.

A slew of Assist Trophies were also showed off, including Mother Brain, Waluigi, Ashley, Lyn, Chain Chomp, and More.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, Greninja, Charizard, Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, and Yoshi.
