Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day Reveals 'Tether Recovery' Between Grappling Link and Samus in Hyrule Level (PICTURE)
Today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day showed off Samus and Link's ledge grabbing ability as they battle with grapples to see who takes hold first.
"Pic of the day. Tether recovery? Yes, you can! And from even longer range than before. Multiple fighters can latch on--who actually grabs hold is determined by the same rules as the standard ledge grab," wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse.
In the picture Link is seen shooting his grapple out, while Samus is shooting her grapple beam. Both off falling off a cliff of a level that appears to be like Melee's Hyrule Temple level, or at least a similar stage. See the image here.
Staying with the Legend of Zelda theme, yesterday a Midna Assist Trophy was revealed for the 3DS version of the game. Midna is from the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
"Pic of the day. The Assist Trophy, Midna! This is the 3DS version. She's going to grab and throw things all over the place. Her uncontrollable, whimsical nature remains intact," game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse today.
In the image, Midna can be seen standing with arms straight up in the air, almost as if in a pose. The picture does not make it clear if they are doing anything but standing there. However, it is a good profile view of the character. See the picture here.
The characters that are confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit Samus, Greninja, Charizard, Shiek, and Yoshi.
The game will launch this summer for the 3DS and in the winter for the Wii U.
