Super Smash Bros 4 Gameplay, Characters: Pic of the Day Features Alternate Stars and Stripes Costume for Mario and White Suit Samus (PICTURES)
Today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day features alternate costumes for Mario and Samus as they stand in Smash arena.
"Pic of the day. The character farther in the back isn't from the Imperial forces, and the character in the front is not the infamous drum-playing puppet in Osaka. No, Mario is actually wearing an outfit from Family Computer Golf: U.S. Course! NES Open Tournament Golf might be a more familiar title," wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse.
In the picture Mario is seen in the forefront wearing a red, white, and blue stars and stripes outfit. Samus is in all white with a few black chrome pieces and a green shooter. The outfits, especially Samus' look like a lot of fun to play with. See the image here.
Yesterday's Pic of the Day features a 3DS screenshot of a red Mii Fighter, Female Villager, and the Dark Emperor and his effect on the others.
"Pic of the day. Just like in the original game, the Dark Emperor can cause status changes based on a fighter's color. Red types generally get powered up. On a different subject, the Mii Fighter is wearing a Mii Force Helmet," wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse.
The picture shows the three standing in a line. The Mii Fighter is posed and ready for battle while the Villager seems to be powering up as the Dark Emperor swoops by. See the image here.
The full character list for the game so far is: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit Samus, Greninja, Charizard, Shiek, Yoshi, Ike, Pac-Man, Mii Fighters, and Lady Palutena.
The game's release date for the 3DS was revealed as October 3, which was a push back from its original July launch. The Wii U version is still unconfirmed, but it is anticipated for the holiday season.
