Super Smash Bros 4 is celebrating the release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze by announcing the return of Diddy Kong to the game series.

Making his first appearance in SSB Brawl for the Wii, Diddy is Donkey Kong's trusty sidekick for over 20 years, and will continue on for the Wii U and 3DS.

"Pic of the day. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is out now in Europe and North America! ...And to celebrate, Diddy Kong joins the battle!!" Masahiro Sakurai wrote on the Nintendo Miiverse. "We've increased Diddy Kong's flexibility this time. This picture shows how far his punches stretch during his strong side attack."

Yesterday Sakurai showed off the height difference between Little mac and Samus, and warned that despite the small stature, Mac packs quite a punch.

"Pic of the day. As shown in Little Mac's debut video, here is the height difference between Samus and Little Mac. He's used those mighty green gloves to punch out many challengers bigger than himself," wrote Masahiro Sakurai on Nintendo's Miiverse.

In the last Pic of the Day featuring Little Mac, he was seen giving MegaMan the uppercut of his life. "Pic of the day. Little Mac can deliver some solid punches while fighting on the ground," wrote Sakurai.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, and now Diddy Kong.

The game is expected out sometime this spring, however, Nintendo has not confirmed the date yet.
