Super Smash Bros 4 Characters Princess Peach, Marth, and Young Link Show off Super Leaf Raccoon Ears and Tails in Pic of the Day (PICTURE)
Today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day revealed a new gameplay feature, and showed off a funny looking cast of characters.
"Pic of the day. With the Super Leaf, any fighter can have ears and a tail. You can also float in the air by pressing the jump button. We're still figuring out whether you'll be able to attack with the tail..." wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse.
The picture shows the Super Leaf standing next to Princess Peach, Toon Link, and Marth as the trio dons raccoon ears and a tail. See the image here.
Commenters in the Miiverse had interesting points about the Super Leaf. What is to become of characters that already have a tail and ears that are similar to a raccoon's, for example Star Fox. While that seems unclear, the game is coming this year, so fans will be able to get their answers unless something else is revealed.
Yesterday's Pic of the Day showed off Samus and Link's ledge grabbing ability as they battled with grapples to see who takes hold first.
"Pic of the day. Tether recovery? Yes, you can! And from even longer range than before. Multiple fighters can latch on--who actually grabs hold is determined by the same rules as the standard ledge grab," Sakurai wrote.
In the picture Link is seen shooting his grapple out, while Samus is shooting her grapple beam. Both off falling off a cliff of a level that appears to be like Melee's Hyrule Temple level, or at least a similar stage. See the image here.
The characters that are confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit Samus, Greninja, Charizard, Shiek, and Yoshi.
The game will launch this summer for the 3DS and in the winter for the Wii U.
