'Super Smash Bros 4' players on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will find a new official character included in the lineup. Director Masahiro Sakurai announced Shulk of 'Xenoblade Chronicles' as the newest addition.

"He's not the type of character that would usually appear in the Smash Bros. series, but we worked really hard to make it happen," Sakurai said.

"We're very happy with how he turned out. This stage is Gaur Plain."

Other characters in the game include Pac-Man, Wii Fighters, Palutena, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Rosalina & Luma, Villager, Greninja, Lucina, Robin, Charizard, Zero Suit Samus, and Sheik.

'Super Smash Bros 4' for Nintendo 3DS will be released on October 3. The Wii U version arrives in the Winter of 2014.
