In the latest installment of Super Smash Bros 4's Pic of the Day, a new Metroid inspired assist trophy was showed off.

"Pic of the day. An insatiable, unidentified extraterrestrial is targeting a certain peaceful town"¦!" wrote Masahiro Sakurai to the Nintendo Miiverse in the caption of the picture. See the image here.

In the picture a giant Metroid alien is seen in the sky and is coming down to what seems like an Earthbound inspired level, also suggesting an appearance by Ness.

On Friday's Pic of the Day, Animal Crossing character Isabelle was showcased. "Pic of the day. Hello fighters! I'll assist you with fresh-picked fruit from my town!?" Sakurai posted in the Nintendo Miiverse forum. "Congratulations on your appearance Isabelle!" See the picture here.
