In today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day, Ike is shown in the 3DS version of the game using a new rocket jet pack that lets the user fly up through the level.

"Pic of the day. The rocket belt from Pilotwings lets you fly upward by jumping. This is a really useful item for characters that have weaker recoveries. By the way, is that cape fireproof?" wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse.

In the photo, Ike is seen fighting a green monster while propelling skyward with his sword raised. See the picture here.

On Friday Fire Emblem's Ike was added to the game's roster, which will be his second appearance in the series.

"Pic of the day. Ike, the swordsman of magnificent strength, joins the battle!! Strike your foes down with his powerful smash attacks. For this game, Ike's design is based on the hero that appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His sword deals heavy damage in Smash Bros., so this design suits him very well! Rest assured, he can use Aether as well," wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse.

In the two pictures released, a close up of Ike with his sword drawn is seen in the first image. The second picture shows Ike standing next to the female Animal Crossing Villager. See the pictures here.

Super Smash Bros 4's character select screen may have been leaked as these alleged images show 50 character boxes.

According to Gamnesia, these screenshots surfaced on popular sharing site 4Chan. The pictures have since been taken down, but if they prove to be fake whoever created them did a good job.

The boxes are mostly locked, and only confirmed playable characters are shown. All the screenshots show a different selection of the roster. The images can be seen here.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit Samus, Greninja, Charizard, Shiek, Yoshi, and now Ike.

The game will launch this summer for the 3DS and in the winter for the Wii U.
