Dream Records: Submission Red reveal new track listing and song-by-song breakdown of new album, "Untamed Ones"

Submission Red's sophomore release on Dream Records, "Untamed Ones" is set to release on October 22nd. The hard rock group share their heart behind their new album's songs and track listing.   Their single, 24 (I Want More Of You) will release digitally on October 2nd.

1. Untamed Ones

"We are Untamed Ones and we rise above the flames. You see us walk above the living, but we are not the same"

This title track sets the tone for a band/ministry that refuses to let their hearts be tamed by the trials that this earth gives out. The guitar triumphantly leads this anthemic song in, followed by Yvonne's passionate proclamation of how and why we are unique as Christians.

2. Freedom Looks Good on Me

"Freedom looks good on me! I broke the chains that I could not see. I never knew that I had the key 'Till I was breaking away...You see me flying away."

This song is for anyone who has been burdened with any type of addiction that had "imprisoned" them at one time. "Freedom Looks Good on Me" is a song of victory over the torment of being trapped by an addiction.

3. When He Looks Down from Above

"When He looks down from above, I don't think He wants to see our brothers dying in the streets. When He looks down from above, I don't think He wants to hear our children drowning in their tears."

In this song, Yvonne cries out for the world to treat each other as brothers.  She presents the population of the world as a metaphor of a house divided.  One half of the family eats and drinks, while the other half staves and thirsts -in the same home.  She further develops her imagery by placing God as the literal Father that would not want to see his home divided in such a manner.

4. 24 (I Want more of You)

"I wake up. I want you in sunlight. I go to sleep. I want you in the night. I seek your love divine for all time."

Being the first radio single off of "Untamed Ones", many may expect this pop rock song to be accompanied by typical pop lyrics. But, in the vein of previous SR songs, the listeners get to rock to a hooky guitar riff while words saturate them with scriptures and deeper meanings. Yvonne jubilantly proclaims her eternal love for God and how time means nothing when it comes to this type of devotion.

5. Hurting Me Like High School

"So maybe I'm not the prettiest. But baby I was your loudest cheerleader. But I guess I just failed the test. Now its history repeating. I guess you're in summer and I'm in a winter fever. You're hurting me like high school. I guess I'll see you next Fall...you're hurting me like high school."

And here we have a very rare Submission Red love song. In the story, one adult pleads for another adult to act like an adult.  This song has already hit home with a span of people from teens to grandparents.  Apparently, everyone in those age groups can relate to some type heartbreak in high school.

6. What is it All For?

"What is it all for if there's nothing more? And if it slides today, will it all just melt away? There's a place for us to hold on to. There's a place for us to go."

Yvonne has said lovingly that this is a song for the atheist.  It is not a song that would burden the non-believing listener with doctrine; but rather with questions.  In the verse, Yvonne simply challenges our non-believing brothers to ask themselves some deep queries about where we are and what happens when it is 'all over.'

7. Happy Birthday Sunshine

"Happy birthday Sunshine. You certainly have shined your light on me. I hope you and your stars have a good time, diving in and out of the deep, blue sea."

In the vein of the Beatles' album interludes, this is a short that exists only for pure fun.  In the past, some have said that Submission Red has been too serious.  Well, this is a look at Yvonne's more light-hearted side.  But, even in this 'ditty', a allegory about life sticks out; thanking the Sun for sharing another year of life with the lyricist.

8. Glimpse of Light

"A glimpse of light is better than never seeing at all!"

Some songs are meant to be spoon-fed to you like an action movie or a romantic comedy.  Yvonne presents "Glimpse of Light" as a novel in which the reader/listener must dig deeper for his or her own interpretation.

9. Fight for Me

"Fight for me! Fight for me! You die for me and I will live for you!"

Having being told her whole life how strong she is, Yvonne exposes the weak part of her that begs for God's help. This song is for the person that is feeling drained by this world.  It is a cry out for help at life's lowest moment.  And in exchange for that help, the lyricist promises her life in return.

10. Dirt and Dust

"I can still be an angel, even though my halo's full of rust."

A very unusual topic for Yvonne, "Dirt and Dust" dives into the topic of the Pharisee. This lyrical perspective is a passionate defense of the pressures that come from being in the public eye and the unnecessary standards that are placed on public figures.  When Yvonne says, "When we look at the stars on the lake of perfection, they're still beautiful even though they are a reflection" she brings the focus back to God and the connection of us being made in His image.  His image is perfect.  And we are made in His image, but could never be perfect as He.  Nevertheless, having been made in His image, we are still an absolute, beautiful creation.

11. Alive

"I wanna live while I'm alive. I'm looking for life before I die."

This song grooves as well as rocks with lyrics that are a simple expression of the desire to live life to it's fullest.
