Sting WWE Debut Date Rumors: WWE 2K15 Roster Reveal News: Sting Officially Confirmed for Monday Night Raw (VIDEO)
In latest World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) news, Sting has finally been announced that he will in fact appear in the upcoming video game WWE 2K15, after a newly released video appeared on Monday Night Raw on July 14.
This marks the first time in the future Hall of Famer's wrestling career that 55-year-old superstar will work with WWE in any capacity.
In addition, the company is also expected to finally release a DVD on September 29, that will chronicle his entire career in WCW, where he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship a whooping six times against legendary foes like Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Diamond Dallas Page (aka DDP), Scott Hall and Kevin Nash (to name a few) during the 1990's until the company was bought out by rival company WWE in 2001.
As a result, the Monday Night War between WCW and WWE was officially over when Vince McMahon's son Shane announced during a live broadcast, of both Monday Night Raw and WCW Monday Nitro simultaneously on March 16, 2001, that he bought WCW before his father did.
In reality, Vince actually bought the company, but for storyline purposes, Shane's faux ownership lead to the storyline that had Vince forming a faction of WWE superstars led by The Rock, "Y2J" Chris Jericho and The Undertaker to name a few. They were sent to defeat Shane and his sister Stephanie's Alliance stable consisting of ex-WCW and ECW superstars including Booker T, and WWE defectors Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle at the Survivor Series PPV event on November 18, 2001.
However, the most glaring omission from the now defunct WCW/ECW faction was Sting, who would later admitted the reason he never signed with WWE is because he did not like the way ex-WCW champions like DDP and Booker T were treated by the company in the past.
Now, Sting will appear as a pre-order character in the upcoming game in his two iconic versions of the popular performer (the original Surfer version and the iconic Crow gimmick modeled after the film that starred Bruce Lee's late son Brandon Lee in 1994).
"The only thing for sure about Sting is nothing's for sure, except my debut in WWE 2K15," said Sting, according to IGN. "I'm honored to have my legacy immortalized in a video game. It's showtime!"
Wrestling fans are hoping the former NWA and WCW champion will finally sign with WWE and face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31 next year.
WWE 2K15 will arrive in American stores on October 28 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
