Sting WWE Debut 2014 Latest News: Wrestling Star Takes on John Cena or 'The Undertaker' for First Match?
WWE fans can't wait for the day when World Championship Wrestling (WCW) legend Sting finally debuts on WWE. Sting, whose real name is Steve Borden, is a 15-time world champion who has held 21 championships from both the WCW and TNA.
According to reports, WWE's Mark "The Undertaker" Calaway welcomes Sting with open arms into the WWE.
In an interview with Pro Wrestling Smarks, the WWE legend reportedly said that he wishes Sting the best of luck in WWE, and that he is very much looking forward to a match against the WCW legend. This has led many wrestling fans into believing that Sting's WWE debut match would be with "The Undertaker" himself, however, this is only rumor.
Regrettably, news that Calaway is currently on indefinite leave from WWE makes the historical match highly unlikely at this time.
Setting that aside, another WWE superstar said he wants to face Sting in his first ever WWE match.
Wrestler-rapper John Cena, also one of WWE stars to give Sting a heartfelt welcome, told Pro Wrestling Smarks during the 2014 International Comic-Con in San Diego that Sting has always been an 'idol' to him, but added that he will be ready for him when the legendary wrestler comes after his title.
Cena's statement has sparked speculation that the WWE wrestler might have been hinting that the highly anticipated Sting debut in WWE could entail a match against the 37-year-old pro wrestler.
Wrestling enthusiasts expect that WWE will make the most out of Sting's remaining years in the professional wrestling arena, since the 55-year old world champion is not expected to stay in the wrestling business for very long, as he nears the age of retirement.
