'Star Wars Rebels' Season 3 Release Date, Preview, News, Rumors: Dave Filoni Spills Ahsoka’s Future; Third Season Set For Fall Release?

"Star Wars Rebels" is set to feature Ahsoka's future when it its the market this year, according to its executive producer and co-creator.

In his interview with IGN, "Star Wars Rebels" executive producer Dave Filoni said that while he was not a huge fan of being tremendously ambiguous as far as what had happened, he would say that it was the one case where he thought it was alright with Ahsoka to leave things a bit open-ended.

According to Filoni, fans had wondered what had happened to Ahsoka previously and they had known that she had walked away. Now, the character kind of left in a state of conflict.

Teasing Ahsoka's return, Filoni said that he would just say that there were probably more stories to tell with the character, pointing out that that would not necessarily happen on "Star Wars Rebels."

"Star Wars Rebels" is assumed to be released in the fall of 2016, according to Ecumenical News. The rumored release date reportedly follows a fall release pattern, just like two years ago. As per the publication, production has already commenced, along with talks that Grand Admiral Thrawn is set to appear.

Meanwhile, fans are set to see Gareth Edwards' upcoming "Star Wars" spin-off film, entitled "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," in theaters this year. It centers on the rebels who are set out on a journey, involving heist and the Death Star. The film stars Riz Ahmed, Jonathan Aris, Alistair Petrie, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Mads Mikkelsen, and Felicity Jones.

Edwards' "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Dec. 16. It is followed by Rian Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII" and Colin Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX," which hit theaters on Dec. 15, 2017 and May 14, 2019, respectively.
