'Star Wars: Episode VII' Latest News: Official Title 'The Force Awakens', New Spoilers
Lucasfilm and Disney have announced the official name of the upcoming 'Star Wars' film, as 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'. While the movie can still be called 'Star Wars: Episode VII', the new title provides some interesting spoilers for eager moviegoers.
Several rumors have been circling different media outlets about the upcoming 'Star Wars' movie over the past year. And now that producers of Disney and Lucasfilm officially named the movie, 'The Force Awakens', the rumors have become a little more intense.
Movie Web listed several persons in the original story that might be connected to the title, including the characters of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Daisy Ridley (Kira), John Boyega (Stormtrooper), Adam Driver (Sith), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and The Emperor.
Luke Sykwalker is rumored to have had an "awakening" moment when he went missing during the past 30 years, discovering something about his powers.
Kira and Boyega's character (suspected to be a Stormtrooper) might be the one to awaken the force with rumors spreading that she goes on a mission to return the lightsaber to Luke Skywalker.
Princess Leia might also get a shining moment in the upcoming film, as she may have to pick up a lightsaber once Luke Skywalker turns to the dark side, "awakening the force within her."
Adam Driver's character, which is still unnamed, but speculated to be a treasure hunter, is said to have possession of a powerful ancient Jedi artifact that when activated, awakens the force.
Finally, The Emperor will come out of hiding after 30 years with a new apprentice, thus awakening "the dark side" of the force.
'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is directed by J.J. Abrams is set to hit the big screen on Dec. 18, 2015.
