'Star Wars Episode 7' Movie Spoilers, Plot Details, Release Date: Storyline Returns to Planet Tatooine From 'A New Hope' and 'Return of the Jedi' (VIDEO)
In the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 7" movie, there are new reports that claim the film will take place on Luke and Anakin (Darth Vader) Skywalker's home planet Tatooine. Fans of Star Wars know that the hot planet was first seen in George Lucas' epic movie "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" back in 1977. In addition, the movie also had memorable scenes in "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," highlighted by Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance battling on Jabba the Hutt's floating sail barge above the Sarlacc creature back in 1983. Furthermore, the planet has appeared in every Star Wars film except for "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" back in 1980.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, an insider revealed that film director J.J. Abrams is planning to recreate the Tatooine home world for the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 7" movie. Disney and Abrams plan on filming in a hot country like Morocco to recapture the setting of the fictional planet that has twin suns. The original home world Tatooine was actually filmed in the African country Tunisia.
In other "Star Wars Episode 7" news, there are more reports that claims everyone's favorite Wookie will return to the big screen in the upcoming movie. Chewbacca made his film debut in the original 1977 classic "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." Chewbacca is best known as Han Solo's first mate on the Millennium Falcon spaceship in the original Star Wars trilogy.
"Star Wars Episode 7" will be the first Star Wars film made by Lucasfilms after Disney acquired the rights. The film is expected to feature the return of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), and Harrison Ford as space cowboy Han Solo.
"Star Wars Episode 7" is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015.
