Star Wars Episode 7 Movie Release Date, Cast News and Rumors: 'Heroes' Star Talks New Sith Plot Details
In latest 'Star Wars' news, there are reports that claim that a former star from the popular 'Heroes' series will appear in the upcoming film.
"Yes @smgulz it IS safe to assume I have a role in #StarWarsEpisodeVII - If I say more than that, JJ will have me killed," wrote Greg Grunberg on his Twitter on September 11.
Grunberg is best known for his role as the telepathic police officer Matt Parkman on the now cancelled NBC superhero drama series 'Heroes' from 2006 to 2010.
The 48-year-old Los Angeles native has formed a strong friendship with JJ Abrams, after appearing in the legendary director and writer's multiple televisions shows and movies such as 'Alias', 'Felicity', 'Star Trek' and 'Mission: Impossible III' in the past.
In other 'Star Wars' news, there also reports that speculate that Adam Driver's new character is an ancestor of Sith Lord Count Dooku (aka Darth Tyranus).
Dooku (played by screen veteran Christopher Lee) was the former mentor of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson), before the elder Jedi turned to the Dark Side and changed his name to Darth Tyranus.
Dooku was later killed by Anakin Skywalker (aka Darth Vader), when he was replaced as Emperor Palpatine's (aka Darth Sidious) new apprentice in the 'Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith' film.
Now Adam Driver's character apparently belongs to family of the Sith Order who are hunting down their noble rivals, The Jedi.
"And the recent Adam Driver rumor - Benedict Cumberbatch, Gwendoline Christie, the Count Dooku connection, and now the Driver rumors. These are all based on that central idea of an aristocratic family 'line' involving Episode 7's bad guys," said an anonymous insider, according to the Making Star Wars report.
"And as I said before, I firmly believe it's the line of Dooku. Details and characters might have changed but the idea of an aristocratic villain with a heritage going back to the Clone Wars has been there from pre-production and as far as I know it's still a major part of the story."
The 'Star Wars Episode 7' features the return of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), and Harrison Ford as space cowboy Han Solo in the upcoming film.
'Star Wars Episode 7' is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015, while 'Star Wars Episode 8' is scheduled to debut in 2017.
