Star Wars Episode 7 Plot Rumors, Update: Cast Adds to New Sith Faction

New reports claim that David Oyelowo will form the new Sith faction with Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong'o in the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7 film.

The actor is best known for his role as Louis Gaines in The Butler, which starred Forrest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey last year. In addition, Oyelowo's other notable role was when he starred as Tuskegee Airman Lt. Joe "Lightning" Little in George Lucas's World War 2 film Red Tails, the movie appeared in theaters in 2012.

According to the website, MakingStarWars, The 38-year-old British actor has not been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm, but the rumor claims that Oyelowo will form a neo-Sith order named "Jedi Hunters" alongside the 12 Years as a Slave actress (Nyong'o) and Girls actor (Driver) in order to hunt down Jedi and Rebel Alliance hero Luke Skywalker.

The "Jedi Hunters" are probably seeking vengeance for the events that occured 30 years ago at the Second Death Star in the Return of the Jedi film. Specifically when, Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) resisted the dark side and forced his father, Darth Vader (aka Anakin Skywalker), to repent for his past transgressions as a servant to Emperor Palpatine (aka Sith Lord Darth Sidious) and the Imperial Galactic Empire. As a result, Darth Vader fulfilled his prophecy that he would "bring balance to the Force" when he killed his former master Palpatine and saved his son Luke's life.

In addition, the MakingStarWars website also claims Oyelowo will provide the voice for an Imperial Agent named Kallus in the upcoming Star Wars Rebels animated series that will appear on Disney XD and Disney Channel this Fall.

Star Wars Episode 7 is slated to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015.
