'Star Wars Episode 7' Movie Spoilers, Plot Details, Release Date: Storyline Returns to Planet Hoth From 'Empire Strikes Back'

In the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 7" movie, there are new reports that claim the film will take place on the arctic planet Hoth. Fans of Star Wars know that the cold planet was first seen in George Lucas' epic movie "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" back in 1980.

In the classic film, Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance suffered their greatest defeat at the hands of Darth Vader and the rest of the Galactic Imperial Empire on that icy planet.

According to a new report by Visir, a website based in Iceland, claims the new "Star Wars" film will be shooting in Iceland possibly in April.

In addition, the website claims that True North, a movie production company based in Iceland, is working with legendary film director J.J. Abrams for this film project.

This is not the first time Abrams has shot a film in that European nation. He also record background shots for his "Star Trek Into Darkness" film.

The "Star Trek Into Darkness" movie was just released last year reportedly making approximately $467 million dollars in the box office. Now, the director looks to have the same success with another iconic science fiction franchise. Previously, there were reports that claim the Sith World Moraband will make its film debut when "Star Wars Episode 7" is released next year.

"Star Wars Episode 7" will be the first Star Wars film made by Lucasfilms after Disney acquired the rights. The film is expected to feature the return of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), and Harrison Ford as space cowboy Han Solo.

"Star Wars Episode 7" is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015.
