Star Wars Episode 7 Movie News Update: Adam Driver to Be Darth Caedus in New Star Wars Film?

The villain in the upcoming "Star Wars Episode VII" film may be Darth Caedus, a villian who debuted in the "Star Wars Expanded Universe."

It was most recently reported by various media outlets that "Girls" star Adam Driver is all but certain to agree to a deal to play the main villain in Episode 7.

Howevever, Other than film director J.J. Abrams' writing crew, no one else knows which villain Driver would potentially play as. 

According to entertainment blog Market Saw, the website credits an unidentified source that reportedly revealed the storyline in Episode VII.

"Ultimately it's about twins, and which will take a path towards darkness and which will follow in their fathers footsteps, or at least that is what it used to be, that may come later as I think changes are being undertaken to bring the original cast into the forefront of the story leading to ramifications that lead up to the next generation of Skywalkers," said the unidentified insider to Market Saw.

The report could be referring to twins Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, or possibly Leia and Han Solo's twins Jacen and Jaina Solo from the Expanded Universe novels.

It is still unknown which parts of the Expanded Universe would J.J. Abrams and his team will regard as what actually happened in the upcoming trilogy, according to Unleash the Fanboy.

According to Expanded Universe books, the Solo twins become the main characters in the story. However, Jacen would later become the most evil human being in the New Republic as the Sith known as Darth Caedus.

The blog believes that it could be Luke or Leia who turned to the Dark Side sometime between the "Revenge of the Jedi" film and the era that Episode VII will take place in. It has been reported by multiple reports that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will all return and likely be playing the lead roles in Episode VII before passing the torch to their offspring and other characters in upcoming Star Wars movies.

"Star Wars Episode 7" is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015.
