Star Wars Episode 7 Movie Cast, Plot News: Simon Peg Rumored to Appear in Future Film (VIDEO)

Star Trek Into Darkness star Simon Pegg recently addressed the rumor regarding him possibly appearing in the other popular science fiction movie franchise.

"Well, J.J. [Abrams] uses me in different roles, and we're good friends," Pegg to the Vulture website, "I feel like my face in Star Wars would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love Star Wars, and I don't want people to watch and go, Oh, there's Simon Pegg's face. The film is cleverly cast with these amazing, unknown actors."

According to the aforementioned website, the 44-year-old British actor hinted (with a grin) that he might appear as a CGI character, rather than using his likeness in the upcoming film.

"Of course I visited the set. It's amazing, and I love Star Wars. I want to see everything happening. It looks wonderful, and you need to believe those characters. Any type of stunt casting might just pop you out of the movie," said Pegg.

In addition to his role as Starship Enterprise's engineer Montgomery Scott in the latest Star Trek reboot films (which were also directed by Abrams), he is best known for writing and starring in the popular comedy "Three Flavours Cornetto" movie trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End) from 2004-2013.

In other Star Wars news, John Boyega's character has been now revealed to be an Imperial Stormtrooper who defects to the good side when he befriends a young woman (played by Daisy Ridley) on another desert planet that is not Tatooine (the home world of protagonist and Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker), according to a new report by Bada** Digest.

Star Wars Episode 7 is slated to arrive in movie theaters on December 18, 2015.
