'Star Wars Episode 7' Movie Cast Plot News: Film Has Begun Shooting; Roles are Almost Completed

In the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 7" movie, Disney Chairman Alan Horn recently publicized the status of the popular sci-fi film franchise. Horn was asked if the movie would begin shooting next month. Here was his response in a discussion at a school in Los Angeles.

"We're actually shooting some of it now," said Horn in a recent interview regarding the film's current progress, according to The Latin Post. "It's all about the screenplay. It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay."

In the same interview, the Disney Chairman also gave the fans in attendance an update regarding the film's cast.

"We have a lot of them, it's not completely done yet," said Horn at the recent interview. "Patience you must have."

In a recent interview by Enstarz, Peter Mayhew (the actor who plays Chewbacca in the films) reportedly will not be able to go to the Texas International Comic Con due to shooting obligations for an undisclosed movie. The Texas International Comic Con begins on May 23. As of right now, Chewbacca has not been confirmed by Disney if the character will be appearing in the upcoming film.

"Rumor has it that almost every actor in the world has been cast in this movie, but so far, the official cast member, the only one is R2D2," said Disney president Bob Iger to Variety. "I know many of you were hoping for some Star Wars news, but it's really early in the process, so there really isn't much that I can share with you right now."

"Star Wars Episode 7" will be the first Star Wars film made by Lucasfilms after Disney acquired the rights. The film is expected to feature the return of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), and Harrison Ford as space cowboy Han Solo. "Star Wars Episode 7" is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015.
