Star Wars Episode 7 Movie Cast, Plot News: Andy Serkis Reveals Spoilers Prior to Announcement of Christina Chong (VIDEO)
In a new interview, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies star Andy Serkis revealed what it is like to work backstage with the original Star Wars cast in the future movie.
"Yeah, of course," said Serkis to MTV, when he was asked if he was a fan of the the sci-fi film franchise when he was a teenager, "It was huge, and little did I know...sitting in that room when all of us did our read-through was quite an extraordinary feeling."
When asked if the original trilogy's trio (Mark Hamill, Harrison and Carrie Fisher) recent performances will measure up to their iconic portrayal of their characters at least 30 years ago, the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes actor made the following statement:
"Absolutely," said Serkis. "And that's all I'm saying before I get enticed into saying more."
The 50-year-old British actor best known for his role as the greedy creature Gollum in the popular movie trilogies based on the world-famous books written by Christian British author J. R. R. Tolkien (January 3, 1892 -September 2, 1973).
Serkis also revealed that he is not the only one in his family who is thrilled about his role in the latest Star Wars film.
"My brother, who is five years younger than me, this means more to him than anything I've ever done in my entire life," said Serkis. "I'm more joyous for him than anything else, in a way."
In other 'Star Wars' news, it was just announced that young British actress Christina Chong will now join the cast of the upcoming film. She was recently seen as Mariana on five episodes on 24: Live Another Day series.
Star Wars Episode 7 is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015.
