'Star Wars: Episode 7' Cast Rumors: Benedict Cumberbatch to Appear in Film as Wookiee?

Recently, Benedict Cumberbatch, who appears in the immensely popular BBC series 'Sherlock', has teased fans about his alleged part in the cast of the upcoming 'Star Wars: Episode 7' film.

Appearing on the 'Graham Norton Show' recently, the 38-year-old Irish actor acknowledged that he actually dropped by the set of J.J. Abrams upcoming blockbuster. However, when the comedian was asked on the show if he would be playing a role in the highly-anticipated film , Benedict plainly said, "No comment."

While he didn't say much, he did have this to say about the matter, "I went to the set and it was incredible," adding, "I probably shouldn't be saying these things."

Meanwhile, CelebrityCafe reports that the set visit by Benedict does not confirm that he has a role in the film. Benedict could have just dropped in to visit his 'Star Trek' director J.J. Abrams, the website said.

As far as the plot of the movie is concerned, not much has been revealed except for the fact that it takes place almost 30 years following the events of the1983 film 'Star Wars: Episode VI - The Return of The Jedi'.

However, there is some information regarding the cast of the movie, and the studio has already confirmed that the original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will be reprising their respective roles in the upcoming movie alongside three young actors.

As there is no official word on Cumberbatch's involvement, it is being speculated that he may possibly play the role of a wookiee.

'Star Wars: Episode 7' is due next year, December 18, 2015.
