Star Wars Episode 7 Release Date, Plot Rumors: Disney Chairman Discusses Cast, Location and Film's Budget (VIDEO)

Alan Horn, Chairman of Disney Studios, has offered some details and hints regarding the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7 movie, which is expected to hit theaters at the end of 2015. The comments have sparked widespread rumors online as fans get ready for the latest installment in the hugely popular film series.

Horn gave a recent interview where he discussed multiple topics regarding the cast, location and budget of the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode 7" film.

"We actually don't even have the completed budget yet," said Horn to Bloomberg TV when he was asked about the movie's budget. "These large, tent pole kinds of movies, on the expensive side, are in the neighborhood of $175-200 million, that kind of a number. We need to give the audience, essentially, a full meal in return for their affection and devotion and love for these properties."

Horn revealed that shooting on the second unit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates was recently completed. He also said that most of the shooting of the film will take place in United Arab Emirates' capital city and Pinewood Studios in England.

Horn also explained in the interview how the production company chose its locations.

"We have all these locations we have to film and we have to give it that Star Warsian look," said Horn to Bloomberg TV.

Horn also said the casting for the upcoming "Star Wars" film is almost finished. As of right now, Disney has only confirmed that droid R2-D2 will return to the sci-fi movie franchise juggernaut. In addition, multiple reports claim that Chewbacca (played by actor Peter Mayhew) will also return in the latest "Star Wars" movie.

"Star Wars Episode 7" will be the first Star Wars film made by Lucasfilms after Disney acquired the rights. The film is expected to feature the return of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), and Harrison Ford as space cowboy Han Solo.

"Star Wars Episode 7" is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2015.
