'Star Wars: Battlefront 3' Release Date: Summer 2015, Game Won’t Include 'Star Wars Episode VII' Movie Plot

One of the most anticipated games, since its announcement at E3 2013, 'Star Wars: Battlefront 3' is expected to debut sometime in Summer 2015.

Little is known about the newest game from Electronic Arts, but executive producers reveal that the title will be taken in the different direction from its movie counterpart.

According to EA Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen, the game will be released before 'Star Wars Episode VII' hits theaters next year. Though fans may find it odd, the developers say that the game's storyline will not take any parts of the plot from the upcoming movie.

In addition to that, EA Executive Vice President Patrick Soderland said:

"What we're building is more rooted in the traditional Star Wars universe and not so much necessarily linked to the movies being made. And that's just because we wanted to make a game that celebrated the history of Star Wars."

He added, "Obviously there will be things in there that are somewhat tied to the new movie. I wouldn't say that we have a particular tie to the movie. Now, obviously we would prefer to be close to the movie, but I wouldn't say that we're directly tied to it."

Fans will have to wait until EA releases the actual gameplay footage to see what the game is going to really be like. A gameplay trailer is expected to be released either late 2014 or early 2015.
