The upcoming EA title, 'Star Wars Battlefront 3', will reportedly be released in the summer of 2015, which allows franchise fans the chance to blow off some steam, as they eagerly wait for upcoming film, 'Star Wars: Episode VII', which premieres December 18.

'Star Wars Battlefront 3' game developer Electronic Arts Digital Illusions CE (DICE) stated that the release of the game would most likely be sometime in the summer of next year, according to EA chief financial officer Blake Jogensen in an interview with Polygon.

According to EA Games Label boss Patrick Soderlund, the highly-anticipated game will be operating on the Frostbite 3 game engine and will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

On a side note, Soderlund also stated that the game will not be directly related to the new movie, 'Star Wars: Episode VII'.

"What we're building is more rooted in traditional Star Wars Universe and not so much linked to the movies being made. Obviously, there will be things in there that are somewhat tied to the new movie," Soderlund said.

However, EA, who first revealed 'Star Wars: Battlefront 3' in a promotional video shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2013, has not given an official statement or date as to when 'Battlefront 3' will arrive.

Meanwhile, game developer and soundtrack musician Viktor Lundberg tweeted that he is excited to release alpha and beta versions of the game for "playtesting" soon, according to Starwars-Holonet.com.

"Looking forward to more Battlefront playtesting today and then get my face melted by @Fearedse probably excellent clinic :)," Lundberg reported on a post dated Aug. 28.

Lundberg also tweeted some details about the progress the game has made thus far.

"Me and @aeonstream just solved a piece of battlefront that no one will ever think of yet it was super vital. We used addition by addition."

Aside form that, Gameranx hypothesized that the game might have single-player modification, possibly deterring some players to go online.

'Star Wars: Battlefront 3' is speculated to arrive in 2015.
