Star Wars Battlefront 3 Release Date News Update: After Battlefield 4 Technical Problems, Development Resumes (VIDEO)

Star Wars Battlefront Three is a long awaited reboot to a beloved franchise that fans have been anxious to take for a spin. Has the resolution to the problems of DICE Studios Battlefield 4 put the development of the game back on track? And when can fans expect a release of the finished product of the title?

Fans were elated to hear that Star Wars: Battlefront 3 was being developed by DICE Stolkholm studios.

Many, however, felt disgruntled when they heard that attention was being diverted from the Swedish branch of the company, to be applied to the many bugs that needed ironing out in Battlefield 4, which was a project of the Los Angeles location of the company.

Many grumbled when the ongoing development of Star Wars was hindered as Dice Stolkholm was brought in to work on the downloadable content on Battlefield, but it looks like the workforce syphoned from the company to focus on the sibling project will return soon, as the final DLC handled by Stolkholm is about to be completed.

The release date of the Battlefront 3 title is expected to be sometime in 2015.

An executive from EA games, Patrick Soderlund, talked to Polygon game magazine recently and had some encouraging things to say about what fans should expect from the new title: "The most important thing for me is that we take the Star Wars license and come up with games where peoples' jaws drop. We just announced the license and showed a sneak peek of Hoth. The speeder and the AT-AT will be in [the game] for sure. We didn't toss anything out."
