‘Star Wars 7’ Release Date, Plot Rumors: ‘Jay and Silent Bob’ Director Confirms Stormtroopers’ Appearance

Star Wars: Episode VII will feature the return of Stormtroopers, "Jay and Silent Bob" actor-creator Kevin Smith confirmed it after he signed an agreement with the film's production.

He posted a picture of himself, teary-eyed, in Instagram with caption, "Visited JJ and his EP VII set. I signed the NDA so all I can share are this old Bantha-Tracks subscriber's tears and snotty nose of joy. The Force is WITH this movie. Holy Sith..."

When asked about the possibility of Flickering Myth appearing on Episode VII, he nodded as he smiled from ear to ear.

"I'm really excited and you know, people keep saying that I liked the last trilogy and I did. I liked [Episode] 1, 2 and 3. But I liked them as an adult - when I watched them they didn't give me the same feeling I had when I was seven watching them for the first time and that's fine," Smith said.

As for the plot, MakingStarWars claimed that there will be a possible romance between Thomas and Rachel. The site also revealed a copy of the audition script that could suggest the possibility their love interest.

"A big barn, dark and damp. Rachel covers the floor with hay, then lays out her sleeping bag. Thomas looks through her backpack for anything he can use as a bandage," the script indicated.

Another Star Wars fan site also confirmed the story line.

"We have heard that Thomas starts the film on the side of the villains. Thomas is shot down over Tatooine and he is injured from the crash. The things we heard from Abu Dhabi about a crashed ship is rumored to have been Thomas' fighter. Rachel rescues him from the wreckage and the elements of the sandy planet. Over the course of their 'unlikely pairing,' Thomas sees the reality of the universe and he defects from the side of the villains and decides to help Rachel for saving his life."

Star Wars: Episode VII is slated to hit theaters December 18, 2015.
