Star Wars 7 Cast Rumors, Harrison Ford Injury Latest: Might Take Longer to Recover

Actor Harrison Ford was rushed to hospital last week after suffering injuries during the filming of Star Wars 7 at the Pinewood Studios in London.

Recent updates suggest that Ford will be under observation longer than expected, as the severity of the accident might be worse than originally thought. His wife, Calista Flockhart, flew to Europe to join her husband while he begins his road to to recovery.

The 71-year-old actor was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital on June 12 after clutching his chest and injuring his ankle.

The incident occurred while Ford was shooting footage of Hans Solo together with the Millennium Falcon spaceship.

BBC quoted a source from the hospital, "We were called just after 5pm to reports of a 71-year-old man being injured in an incident believed to involve a garage door."

Ford's wife, Calista, flew to the hospital in Oxford after learning that the actor might need a plate and screws for his injured ankle, reported Access Hollywood.

Back in Pinewood Studios, other cast members of Star Wars 7 have requested everything to be triple checked before resuming productions.

According to The Sun, JJ Abrams' team has started rescheduling dates to accommodate Ford's recuperation, which might take a couple of weeks.

An anonymous source said, "Every day of filming lost would cost a six-figure sum with all the people and special effects involved. Harrison's injury is a big blow and bosses are meeting to stop filming descending into complete chaos."
